So it Goes....

So this week was pretty bland, not much happened, but here's my overview:

Friday: Today we just went to class, and got taught some Mongolian. Literally no one understands what the teacher says so they use a lot of sign language. It's pretty crazy being immersed in the language, it's tough. We never really review things.  It just moves from one lesson to the next.  We never learned the alphabet or grammar, or how to read either.  It's like we got thrown right into Mongolian level 4.  We also got bored so we went to the top of the building and made paper airplanes and saw how far they went, it was pretty fun.

Saturday: We had service again which is hard, we have to wake up 30 minutes earlier. (Service is their weekly cleaning chore.  They are in charge of setting up the chapels and hanging the country flags outside. He says that he always puts up Mongolia and Brazil in honor of Matt. ) Then when we were in class we found a cut out of Jesus and all took pictures with it, it was pretty funny, everyone was looking at us like we were crazy. Then in class that night our teacher taught this lesson and you could feel the spirit so strong, it was amazing.

Sunday: Sunday's here are very very long. It was even harder knowing that my two favorite teams were playing in the Superbowl. But we have some "structured missionary time" where we are supposed to study and I got bored so I read the bible dictionary. Tell dad to read it and look up the word "dog", he has the same opinion as the Isrealites. I laughed when I thought of him when I read it.

Monday: So Monday was pretty good, I got a package and three letters from Kylie and that made my day (step up your game mom). The Finnish and Danish elders left today and it was sad. I got along with them better than anyone and when they left it felt like the whole zone changed. Everyone became super serious and not as fun when they left. Class was exceptionally hard today, my teacher is going super fast and we don't have time to learn anything before they move on. It's going to be interesting to see if this accelerated track helps us learn faster. My teacher showed us a bunch of pictures from her wedding and it was actually super cool. Her husband and her have been dating since high school. Pretty neat stuff.

Tuesday: We had a devotional and this general authority (a 70) come talk to us. He said some really interesting things. He said one of the most important things in life was to be happy. I dont know, that just really hit me.

Wednesday: Today was just a crappy day. Nothing went my way. We got to host though which was fun, but weird. We were in charge of meeting and helping the new missionaries around and every single one of them will leave in 3 weeks. I have 8 weeks left in this place and everyone is itching to leave. But it was a good break and nice to meet new people. That night we also had to teach this lesson with returned missionaries and they only spoke mongolian, so we were freaking out. We said a prayer right before we went into the room and it was crazy. I understood like 40% of what they said (and thats alot considering I only know how to say hi). It was very very cool and comforting to know that God is helping me, even teaching just a pointless lesson like this.

Also, this place feels like EFY on steroids more than anything else.  Also, shark in Mongolian literally translates to champion fish, so that's cool.

Love and miss you all.
