Chilling байна...
This week was pretty lax, we scheduled a lot of appointments, but literally all of them cancelled on us. So we had a lot of free time to do some stuff. Thankfully though it''s warming up which makes it easier to stay outside. We had our zone conference this week too which was interesting. We had to have it in the Harper's house because immigration is going around right now questioning us and stuff. None of us have been stopped yet, but I guess it's getting pretty crazy. Hopefully it chills down here soon. It doesn't change much, but they don't want us ever wearing our tags, even inside the church on Sunday or for any reason. So we will see what happens. Honestly though we are fine, nothing crazy like that would happen here. I ate Yak Cheese though. It was pretty good. Super super buttery though.
Earlier this week I got a call from some other missionaries saying they had a referral for us, and the person lived in our area (which is super rare because of how small we are). So I called them and told them about church, and on Sunday they came. It was pretty crazy because normally it doesn't happen like that, we usually have to visit with them first. So this mom came and brought her son and daughter (they are 19 and 17) and the daughter brought her friend. The mom had work so she couldn't come to church, but the three others stayed the whole time. They are honestly pretty dang sweet. So we decided to teach them right after church. They were super engaged during the lesson. It was fun teaching them, because it's completely different than teaching an adult. It feels like we can connect with the young investigators more. Plus they were making jokes and stuff and we were laughing. It felt way more like how I think missionary lessons should go, and less like a lecture (how they usually go). It was cool. We are meeting them again this Saturday.
The other girl Munguljin showed up to church too, she still wants to be baptized, so we taught her too and she should be getting baptized next Saturday if she can meet with us this week. So hopefully.
I finally got to teach English again on Friday. It was really fun. I teach with Ogden, he was in my MTC group. It went really good. The students are pretty decent at English so after we gave our little lesson to them, they asked how they can get a better accent and speak faster. The best way is to either watch YouTube or listen to American songs. So they asked us to put on some good music, and we spent like 30 minutes singing and listening to some music. It was awesome. I've really missed music. It did help them a lot though, so maybe we will start using it more. Teaching is still really fun though. I'm really glad I get to do that here.
We had Zone Conference this week. It was good. They talked a lot about Time Management and organization. So we spent the rest of our free time this week organizing all the records of the investigators and new members and stuff that are in our ward. It was kinda a long process, but at least now it's all in order. We also had one of the Sisters during their training dress up like a super traditional Mongolian. I should have got a picture, but she did this whole Mongolian culture thing that was taught to Chinggis Khan, and she taught it to us. It was pretty awesome. After Zone Conference we had mutual which was really fun. There were tons of people there. So we had Ping Pong and some card games going. The kids really liked it. Most of them just get off work or from school right when it starts, and I think it helps them relax and just hangout with their friends for a few hours. We had a person who got baptized a few weeks ago show up (Luwsanyam) and he already made tons of friends who go to church. So it's been going well. Scrimsher was there because of some splits he had to do, so we played ping pong doubles for way too long against some other missionaries. It was so much fun. It definitely made the week.
So we have a rug in our apartment, and I was so done with it being dirty even though I vacuum it all the time, so it's currently getting cleaned. But we had to rip up our entire apartment to move it out and roll it up. A while ago some other missionaries who lived in this apartment broke a part of the couch, it was fine with it broken. But we were already in the mood of fixing everything, so we literally took our entire couch apart and spent the rest of the night fixing it. It was a very productive week lol.
And yesterday we went to Baljinyam's house. He is the new member family we baptized a few weeks ago. He needed some help with English homework, so we went to their house and it was just him and his brother there. So we had some dinner and snacks and busted out some English stuff. It reminded me of tutoring. It was actually pretty fun, those guys are super good people.
That is pretty much it. We just spent a lot of time walking around enjoying the weather. Today we are going hiking which will be awesome, we've all really missed it. We are going to summit the highest mountain in the city. Should be dope.
Love you guys.
